Il nostro redattore Vito “Nik Hollywood” ha intervistato la modella Christina Vyas. Di seguito l’intervista per voi lettori.
What was your dream since when you were a kid? What would you like to do?
When I was a child, I was very artistic and I loved Walt Disney films… My dream back then was to be a Disney Artist and work at Disney World in Florida! But now I am a model and make-up artist which is still a very creative job!
How did you start and how was your first experience in the industry?
I had always been obsessed with watching America’s Next Top Model and similar shows, and so when Britain and Ireland’s Next Top Model Live came to London, I made sure I attended. This was very fortunate since I was scouted here and got to do a photo shoot with celebrity stylist and designer Joey Bevan. It was an awesome experience!
Can you tell us something about your experience?
My photo shoot from that experience was so awesome because as well as getting some amazing pictures of two very contrasting looks, it inspired me to model at a local make-up academy. Here I not only gained experience in front of the camera, but also then trained as a make-up artist!
What’s the best and worst aspect of your job?
The best aspect of my job is the excitement of modelling in fantastic locations and walking in some amazing shows around the world, especially the Fashion Weeks. I also get to meet some wonderful and very interesting people. The worst aspect is that sometimes these great opportunities clash and you have to make a choice. Plus it can get quite tiring as well, especially when you are messaging contacts around the world in the middle of the night after a long day on set. But I actually really enjoy the social media side of the business, and I am currently developing my own website www.modelandmakeupartist.com and write my own blog www.modelandmakeupartist.com/blog-cest-la-v
How do you handle the pressure that this type of job involves?
I handle the pressure by taking one day at a time… I try to focus on the matter in hand whilst staying aware of everything else but not letting it distract me. I do devote some time to planning which helps me be more organised and efficient. To relax, I do yoga and try to go for at least an hour’s walk each day. This also helps me to stay fit and healthy. I also endeavour to have a spa day when time and money allows!
What does Christina like the most about herself and what the less?
The thing I like most about myself is that I am learning and getting good at a lot of different aspects of the fashion world…not only the modelling and make-up side but also the networking and business side. I am also very interested in fashion styling and photo editing. What I don’t like about myself is that I am a perfectionist and so there is not enough time in the day to accomplish everything I want to achieve to my own standards!
What are your best satisfactions you had in your life and career?
The things I am most proud of, apart from modelling at New York, London and Paris Fashion Weeks, are walking the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival this year and doing an exclusive fashion show on Michael Jackson’s father’s yacht in front of Justin Timberlake last year. And I have also walked in front of Vera Wang and Miss J from ANTM….Miss J said afterwards that I looked fierce, which was a great compliment.
What are your project for the future ?
My projects for the future are to continue doing what I’m doing expanding my horizons. My dream would be to make the cover of Vogue and to walk at Milan Fashion Week…I hope these dreams can come true!
Thanks a lot Christina, you’ve been very kind. Voce Spettacolo wishes you all the best in your career and life.
