UIFF: OFFICIAL SELECTION

Hollywood, CA- November 2016-United International Film Festival (UIFF) presents a program of new international cinema from filmmakers from across the globe. United International Film Festival (UIFF) supporters are a community of passionate individuals and organizations that are united in their support of UIFF mission to advance the work of independent artists in film and to share their stories with the world. The UIFF community understands that fresh perspectives from visionary storytellers are essential for a healthy and vibrant society.

Official Selections:

Rose Garden: Directed by Rafael Nani. Starring Evan O’Toole, Roger Argo, Holgie Forrester, Laura Lenee, Rob Lanza, and Robert Artz. (USA) A whole condo has its routine changed after Felix arrived. A smart little kid who knows he’s going to die soon, but the way he faces his destiny changes everyone around him. Screening will be November 20, 2016 at Raleigh Studios in Hollywood.

The Second Coming of Christ: Directed by Daniel Anghelcev. Starring Diana Angelson, Jason London, Quinton Aaron, Natalie Burn, Al Sapienza and Meredith Salenger. (USA) The journey of a woman scientist who, at the end of times, discovers that true Faith can bring Miracles. Screening will be November 20, 2016 at Raleigh Studios in Hollywood.

Journey to Mt. Fuji: Directed by Cris Ubermann. Starring Yukita Kusunoki, Sulai Lopez, Stutz Bearcat, Tanuki Toyoda, Kumiko Sakai and Kashu Kurata. (Japan/USA)

Mozzman takes a long journey to Mt. Fuji in search for his old friend Kitakitsune. Screening will be November 20, 2016 at Raleigh Studios in Hollywood.

Consurgo: Directed by Luigi Comandator. Starring Dee Imbert, Nicola Acunzo, Emmett McCarthy,Ricky Syers and Liliana Molina. (USA)  When the need to be something other than what we are becomes too much to bare, sometimes we choose the extreme solution to our problem. The result can change us forever, but leave us with conflicted feelings that are still too much to bare. Screening will be November 20, 2016 at Raleigh Studios in Hollywood.

Khayalami My Home: Directed Denise Khumalo. An African American woman struggles to keep her traditions and customs alive in an increasingly western world. Screening will be November 20, 2016 at Raleigh Studios in Hollywood.

Andrew Carnegie: Rags to Riches, Power to Peace: Directed by Vicky Matthews. Starring Brian Cox, David Nasaw,  Seth Kamil, Ronald Baraff, Tom Hunter and William Thomson.  (United Kingdom | United States) Andrew Carnegie: Rags to Riches, Power to Peace charts the story of a poor Scottish immigrant who became the richest man in the world. We examine how Carnegie’s steel empire changed America, and his forgotten attempt to bring about peace in the run up to the First World War. Narrated by Brian Cox. Screening will be November 20, 2016 at Raleigh Studios in Hollywood.

You Are Back: Directed by Igor Possewnin. Starring Rebekka Mueller. (Germany) Waiting for your sweetheart: Impatience and anticipation take it in turns. A young woman in Berlin longs for the reunion with her boyfriend who serves as a soldier abroad. With her thoughts just with him, she sets off in the metropolis to meet him. Screening will be November 20, 2016 at Raleigh Studios in Hollywood.

It’s My Decision: Directed by Lydia Cornell.  Starring Debbrah Baselice, Joel Bryant, Ben Clinkinbeard, Johnny Cosmo, Bob Dean and Jeanine Kirk. (USA) One decision leads to another. As Sam decides to make a change and stand up for herself, her husband Eric fights against this change and his wife’s new found strength.  Screening will be November 20, 2016 at Raleigh Studios in Hollywood.

Guardian Angel: Directed by Ralph Odierna. Starring Megan Henry, Tim Bader, Johnny Cosmo, Jessica McMillin, Mike Foster  and Tony Nunes. (USA) Maddie believes she is chosen by God to be a Guardian Angel and she takes vengeance against those who harm the innocent.  Screening will be November 20, 2016 at Raleigh Studios in Hollywood.

Jiaozi:  Directed by Lin Zhao. Starring Noa Brenner, Natalie Bright, Anthony Coleman, Jason Eskildsen,  Judith A. Faraj  and Hailey Foote. (USA) An Asian American elementary student Ming is ashamed of the culture he is come from especially one day his food was laughed by his fellow classmates. He then his Mother comes up with a great idea to solve the problem. Screening will be November 20, 2016 at Raleigh Studios in Hollywood.

All They Know Is Shoot: Directed by Anike Bay. Starring Eric Lane, Robin Lei, Ricky Moncler and Jamiel Patton. (USA) The is the first Official Anti-Police Brutality Protest Music Video which showcases different segments of injustices that occurs daily in the United States of America and throughout the world between police and innocent citizens.    Screening will be November 20, 2016 at Raleigh Studios in Hollywood.

Emily: Directed by Guannan Li. Starring  Martha Hamilton, Cynthia Marsh and Clayton McInerney. (USA)  Emily comes back for a revenge of John and Jane after she dies of giving birth to a baby. When John abandons his wife, Emily, who dies giving birth at home, she becomes a ghost to get revenge on her husband John and in the end, Emily punishes John.Screening will be November 20, 2016 at Raleigh Studios in Hollywood.

Vienna Table Trip: Directed by Virgil Widrich. (Austria) An animated whirlwind cinematic tour through Vienna, staged with cups, saucers, plates, knives, forks, local specialties and products interspersed with different dimensions of Vienna’s contemporary urban life. Screening will be November 20, 2016 at Raleigh Studios in Hollywood.

Another Day in Paradise: Directed by Bellopropello.(Switzerland) Plants are growing in paradise; one of them nicer, more beautiful and taller than all the other and provoke a disciplinary action. Against all odds has consequences even in paradise. Screening will be November 20, 2016 at Raleigh Studios in Hollywood.

Chef Maya Erickson’s Black Sesame Dessert: Directed by Jennifer Davick. (USA) Stylized, Sexy, Provocative and Decadent. Everything You Would Expect from a Grandmother’s Recipe. Screening will be November 20, 2016 at Raleigh Studios in Hollywood.

The Good Memory: Directed by Na Liu. Starring Albert Serrato and Jessica Blowers. (USA) A man who lost his wife and daughter cannot escape the memory of their last moment together. Screening will be November 20, 2016 at Raleigh Studios in Hollywood.

Bloody Hands: Directed by Jaden Hwang. Starring Klement Tinaj, Orlando Brown, Roman Xing, Leandro Simozza, Jongman Kim and Melissa Carvajal. (USA) Leo Rossmore (Klement Tinaj) a former fighter is searching for his detective wife Jessica who has been missing. He believes was taken by the same members she was assigned by Detective Brown (Orlando Brown) to go after. Leo hits rock bottom and gives up his dreams until a woman Cristy gives him a reason to fight again. Screening will be November 20, 2016 at Raleigh Studios in Hollywood.

I Wish: Directed by Zixian Ouyang. Starring Daniel Mutis, Natalie Davis, Natalie Daniels, Chris Homstad,Tara Katchur and Daniel Student. (USA)  Screening will be November 20, 2016 at Raleigh Studios in Hollywood.
