HOLLYWOOD, CA- United International Film Festival (UIFF) presents a program of new
international cinema from filmmakers from across the globe. United International Film Festival (UIFF)
supporters are a community of passionate individuals and organizations that are united in their support
of UIFF mission to advance the work of independent artists in film and to share their stories with the
world. The UIFF community understands that fresh perspectives from visionary storytellers are essential
for a healthy and vibrant society.

On March 6, 2016 UIFF held a special evening of networking, red-carpet gala, special screenings and
an award ceremony. The evening was hosted by UIFF Host Amy Cox. Six films were nominated for best
picture and screened at Raleigh Studios in Hollywood, CA. UIFF Director Klement Tinaj presented
awards in 13 categories during the award ceremony. The Weight of Blood and Bones, starring Danny
Trejo took home two awards, including the trophy for best picture.

After the ceremony a selection of craft wine, sodas, juice and cheese were served to guests as the
winners were interviewed on the red carpet. UIFF announced their next festival will take place in New
York on July 30, 2016. Submissions are now open on Filmfreeway.

 DOMIZIANO ARCANGELI, ORGY OF THE DAMNED, Directed by Creep Creeperson. Written by

Kates and Vincent Hoss Desmarais. (USA) An erotic vampire tale set in a surreal world of

 NICOLE NELSON, MISALIGNMENT, Directed by Jeremy Nelson. Written by Nicole Nelson.
Starring Nicole Nelson, Ashton Whitney, Lauren Mizenko and Holly Glasser. (USA) Sometimes it
takes being with the wrong person to know when you have met the right one. Misalignment is a
story about love, choices, and discovering what’s really important in the quirky, cute romantic
comedy.

BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR

 IAN BUCHANAN, ONE NIGHT IN HOLLYWOOD, Directed and written by Sheri Sussman. Starring
Ian Buchanan, Kyle Kaminsky, Rick Peters and Markus Reymann (USA) A writer and an actor find
the perfect investor for their Indie film, who only has one request – they kill a studio executive
that has crossed him and he’ll finance their film and they can have their coveted ‘complete
creative control’. That’s a no-brainer! Now if they can only agree on an ending for their script!

Toolsidass. Starring Vijay Maurya, Palomi Ghosh, Prince Jacob and Blasco Andrade. (India)
‘Nachom-ia Kumpasar’ is a Konkani feature film – a tribute to Goan Music and her legendary
musicians. Narrated through the emotional roller coaster of a love story destined to tragedy, it
celebrates Goan music through the eyes of its prodigiously eclectic generation of musicians in
the 1960s and 70s. The film weaves its lilting narrative through 20 timeless Konkani songs that
capture the timbre and texture of a sound scape these musicians made their own. Nachom-ia
Kumpasar is a nostalgic musical tale set in the times these formidable talents lived and died in.
Unrecognized. Unappreciated.

AWARD OF MERIT

 THE MOMENT I WAS ALONE, Directed and written by Kellen Gibbs. Starring Tessa Espinola,
Jordan Knapp, Valerie Spencer and Julia Parker. (USA) When time stops around a young girl, she
is forced to grow alone while the world around her stays locked in a moment.

AWARD OF RECOGNITION

 NICOLAS RAGANATO, FIRST LOVE, Directed and written by Nicolas Raganto. Starring Diego
Delpiano, Samantha Kamp, Rebecca Ellen Evans and Laney Malone. (USA) Daniel, a ten-year-old
student confronts his evil teacher Ms. Ruth to get his valentine card back that was done for his
girlfriend Sammy.
