Luis Ger (Luis Sanchez Navarro), is a successful Mexican musician that is now making music with some of the best-known people in the Hollywood industry. After a long career making music for others, he just released his own first EP “Quien te Viera”, which includes two singles in Spanish.
We had the chance to chat with him about his life and career.
Hi Luis. It’s a great pleasure to have you as our guest on Vocespettacolo.com. Lets’ start from the first question You chose a difficult career. Was your family supportive?
Yes, since I was little and decided to learn piano, my family has supported me in every way possible, cheering me on and providing me with everything that I asked for in my early steps I’m really grateful and really blessed to have them.
Why did you move to Los Angeles?
It seemed the next obvious move to take in my career, I needed to step up my game and going back to school was the correct thing to do.
Are you going to make music in English?
I’m not sure, I’m producing music for English speaking artists and writers, but I don’t know if I’ll be singing in English any time soon.
You produced your EP with Marteen Andruet, how did that happen?
Marteen mentored me for some time before we started to work together. He is very experienced and he knows Latin genres very well but he’s never afraid to introduce his own interesting and innovative ideas, he’s not afraid of experimenting but acknowledges when an idea doesn’t work, as a producer it’s a very teaching experience to work with him.
You have worked with many important people in the music industry. Who would you like to work with that you haven’t yet?
I really admire Sebastian Yatra’s and Alejandro Sanz’s work, I would really love to collaborate with them next.
