On the theme of reality, this years prestigious Games Lecture sees Dan Hay, executive producer and creative director at Ubisoft Montreal discuss how developers can leverage the world around them to build inspiring games. Hay’s credits include the Far Cry Series and Marvel Ultimate Alliance.

NEW: SCREENWRITERS’ LECTURE SERIES IN 2017
Now in its eighth year, the series celebrates screenwriters’ authorial contribution to film, and gives esteemed writers a platform to share highlights and insights from their careers. This year we welcome Mark Boal, Sean Baker, Edgar Wright, Dee Rees and Anthony McCarten.

TV CRAFT: SHORT FORM

CHILDREN’S NOMINATIONS ANNOUNCED
The British Academy Children’s Awards honour the very best in children’s film, games and television and the nominations for this year’s awards have been revealed.
Online educational platform TrueTube leads the nominations with seven, CBeebies receives its 11thconsecutive nomination for Channel of the Year, and streaming channels Amazon and Netflix receive their first ever nominations at these awards.

HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE BRITANNIAS
BAFTA’s biggest event in the US, the annual AMD British Academy Britannia Awards, took place in Los Angeles last Friday. Dick Van Dyke, Ava DuVernay, Kenneth Branagh, Claire Foy, Aziz Ansari and Matt Damon were all honoured at the ceremony hosted by comedian Jack Whitehall.
