Il nostro redattore Vito “Nik Hollywood” ha intervistato l’attrice statunitense Kate Stewart. Di seguito l’intervista per voi lettori.
Hi Katie!! It’s a great pleasure to have you as our guest on Vocespettacolo.com. Lets’ start from the first question.. Let’s have a jump into the past. What was your dream since when you were a kid? What would you like to do?
Well, as a child I have always been one to go for the spotlight. I used to walk around imitateing commercials on T.V, whether it was a cereal commercial or the ever famous « shake and bake » commercial. I used to act out scenerio’s in the mirror, then you torture my family by making them watch me to do it over and over again. Acting is all I have ever truely wanted to do. Its been my passion since childhood, and I dont ever see that changing.
How did you start and how was your first experience in the industry?
I started out doing plays when I was young, and all throughout High School. I attended Youth Preforming Arts School for a year, and learned so much- the fire burned even stronger for the entertainment world. As far as film goes, I was an extra in “Secretariat” and “Elizethtown” years ago, which showed me so much about the film world and made me want it even more. I have just continued moving up from there.I also attend The Millie Lewis Talent Convention, and won 2 first place awards, 1 second place award,1 third place award and 2nd place best overall actress.
Can you tell us something about your experience?
I started out being an extra in things, and slowly climed. I nailed my first Lead role in “Intrusion”, which got great reviews and landed me in the newspaper. That was an amazing project with life long friend ships. I then worked with The Booth Brothers for SYFY for a show called “Spooked TV” which aired on SYFY. I then moved on to do a few Sullivan commercials, feature films like “Hell-ephone”, “The Legacy”, “Revelation Trail”, “Overtime”, “Destination Unknown”, “Othering”, and many more features, commercials and several short films. I also had a 2 year running as Maxine on a webseries called “Girl/Girl Scene”.
What’s the best and worst aspect of your job?
Honestly, there are to many “best’s” to list. As a actress/preformer- you get to become something else, someone else, take a character and make it you, your own. Or have the previliedge to tell someones true life story. Recently on a project, I was told “ Your character represented a very important person and part of my life- and you nailed it.” That- that is what we work for.
Another best- is just the people. Fellow actors, and crews to meet. Friends to make, and life long bonds.
The worst- when you have the true undying passion for this field, there is no “worst” of it. Yes- I could sit here and name things but, its all part of the field, and a part of life.
How do you handle the pressure that this type of job involves?
Lots and Lots of coffee and messages! There is a lot of pressure at times, but again its part of it and almost always worth it. Having support from your family and friends, is immensly important.
What does Katie like the most about herself and what the less?
I am passionate, caring, and never meet a stranger- I think that is what I like best about myself. I always put everything I have into everything I do, whether it is acting or raising my kids.
What I like the least- is probably that I am very sensitive, wear my feelings on my sleve as they say. My heart is to big- which is good and bad. In this bussness, that can both work for you and against you.
What are your best satisfactions you had in your life and career?
I have to say my biggest satisfactions in my life, are my daughters. I girls mean everything in my life, and I am the person I am today because of them. They are amazing and wonderful and I am so proud of them. However I won’t call them satifactions- I call them Blessings. As for best in my career, it would have to be all the people I had had the opportunity to meet and work with. I have met so many famous people and had the previelge of sharing the screen with a few of them- which of course is amazing in itself. But its not just the highly famous ones, its also ones right here, in my home town. Its again the bonds and friendships I have made locally and afar.
What are your project for the future ?
Lots of stuff coming up so here goes- keep a watch out for:
“LossPrevention”,“Strenuous”,“Intrusion:Disconnected”,“Thantophobia”,“Peterson Park”, “The Wicked One”, “Devil’s Hollow” and “Dark Watch”.
These are all projects I will be a part of that are either in post-production due out end of this year, or in pre-production to be released late 2016.
I am very appriciative of your request for this interview. It was fun!
Thanks a lot Kate, you’ve been very kind. Voce Spettacolo wishes you all the best in your career and life.
