In occasione del Super Bowl, la finale di campionato della National Football League e l’evento sportivo più seguito negli Stati Uniti, è stato trasmesso il nuovo trailer del film Disney live action Mulan, nelle sale italiane dal 26 marzo. Il film racconta l’epica storia della leggendaria guerriera, una giovane donna senza paura che rischia ogni cosa per proteggere la propria famiglia e il proprio Paese, diventando uno dei più grandi guerrieri che la Cina abbia mai conosciuto.

Quando l’Imperatore della Cina decreta che un uomo per ogni famiglia dovrà arruolarsi nell’Armata Imperiale per difendere il Paese dall’attacco di invasori provenienti dal Nord, Hua Mulan, la figlia maggiore di un rispettato guerriero, prende il posto del padre malato. Dopo essersi travestita da uomo ed essersi arruolata con il nome di Hua Jun, Mulan verrà messa alla prova in ogni momento del suo cammino e dovrà trovare la propria forza interiore e dimostrare tutto il suo autentico potenziale. Nel corso di questo epico viaggio si trasformerà in una stimata guerriera guadagnandosi il rispetto di una nazione riconoscente e l’orgoglio di un padre.
Niki Caro firma la rivisitazione in chiave live action del classico d’animazione Disney del 1998 Mulan, che vanta un acclamato cast internazionale che comprende Yifei Liu nel ruolo di Mulan, Donnie Yen nel ruolo del Comandante Tung, Tzi Ma nel ruolo di Zhou, Jason Scott Lee nel ruolo di Böri Khan, Yoson An nel ruolo di Honghui e Ron Yuan in quello del Sergente Qiang, con la partecipazione di Gong Li nel ruolo di Xianniang e di Jet Li nel ruolo dell’Imperatore.
La sceneggiatura, basata sul poema narrativo “La Ballata di Mulan”, è firmata da Rick Jaffa & Amanda Silver e da Lauren Hynek & Elizabeth Martin. Il film è prodotto da Chris Bender, Jake Weiner e Jason Reed, mentre Bill Kong, Barrie M. Osborne, Tim Coddington e Mario Iscovich sono i produttori esecutivi.
